Learning outcome: N03 · adding and subtracting three- and four-digit numbers
Unit 3
Times Tables
Multiplication and division facts to 100 with arrays, fact families and strategies like doubling, using 10s, and thinking multiplication to divide.
Learning outcome: N04, N05 · properties of 0 and 1 and multiplication facts to 9 × 9
Unit 4
Multiply & Divide
Multiplying and dividing 2- and 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers by splitting them by place value, plus remainders, estimating and word problems.
Learning outcome: N06, N07 · multiplying by one-digit numbers and dividing by a one-digit divisor
Unit 5
Fractions
Naming fractions from pictures and number lines, comparing fractions with the same top or bottom number, using 1/2 as a benchmark, and finding equal fractions.
Learning outcome: N08 · fractions less than or equal to 1
Unit 6
Decimals
Tenths and hundredths as decimals, linking them to fractions, placing and comparing them on number lines, and adding and subtracting decimals by lining up the decimal points.
Learning outcome: N09, N10, N11 · tenths and hundredths, relating decimals to fractions, and adding and subtracting decimals
Unit 7
Patterns & Tables
Extending increasing and decreasing number patterns, naming pattern rules, finding rules in input/output tables, and describing how two quantities are related.
Learning outcome: PR01, PR02, PR03, PR04 · patterns in tables and charts, and relationships that solve problems
Unit 8
Equations
Solving one-step equations with a box or letter for the unknown, using all four operations, and matching equations to word problems.
Learning outcome: PR05, PR06 · expressing a problem as an equation and solving one-step equations
Unit 9
Telling Time
Reading analog clocks to the minute, switching between 12-hour (a.m./p.m.) and 24-hour time, and working out how long events last.
Learning outcome: M01 · reading and recording time on digital, analog and 24-hour clocks
Unit 10
Angles & Area
Sorting angles into acute, right, obtuse and straight, finding area by multiplying length by width, and working backward to find a side.
Learning outcome: M03 · area of regular and irregular 2-D shapes
Unit 11
Polygons & Perimeter
Telling regular polygons (all sides and angles equal) from irregular ones, finding lines of symmetry, and measuring perimeter around regular and irregular shapes.
Learning outcome: G03 · line symmetry and polygons
Unit 12
Graphs & Chance
